The Origins of PlaintiffMax:
At PlaintiffMax, we believe in empowering attorneys with cutting-edge tools to revolutionize the legal claims process. Here’s how it all started.
PlaintiffMax founder Andrew Weber is no stranger to standing up to insurance companies and their notorious “deny, delay, defend” tactics. His journey began over a decade ago when he found himself navigating the complex process of resolving a bodily injury claim for his wife following a serious car accident in Pickens County, South Carolina, in 2012.
Despite following every instruction from the claims adjuster—compiling an exhaustive list of treatment notes, attending countless doctor’s appointments with his wife, and making multiple trips to hospital billing offices to secure updated diagnostic and treatment records—the process was anything but smooth. With over $37,000 in medical bills and a 34% whole-person impairment rating, Weber initially believed their own insurer would act in their best interests as they pursued a UIM (underinsured motorist) claim. Instead, what unfolded was a grueling four-year legal battle.
Determined to understand the system, Weber dedicated thousands of hours to researching everything from the history of Colossus (an insurance valuation tool originating in his home country of Australia) to case law, expert testimony, and other critical resources. It wasn’t until the discovery phase of litigation—during the “Production of Documents”—that Weber gained access to internal claim files. This pivotal moment brought all the pieces of the puzzle together, exposing the tactics used by insurers to undervalue claims.
Inspired by his experience, Weber founded AIE Consulting, a claims audit service for plaintiff attorneys. Designed to Audit, Investigate, and Expose insurer practices, AIE Consulting paved the way for the creation of PlaintiffMax, bringing cutting-edge tools and strategies to revolutionize the claims process for attorneys and their clients.
From Manual Consulting to Revolutionary Solutions
In 2015, Andrew Weber launched his consulting business, working with a handful of small law firms in South Carolina, Kentucky, and Indiana. In those early days, claim audits were an incredibly time-consuming and labor-intensive process. Weber meticulously reviewed demand packages—often hundreds of pages long—cross-referencing injuries, treatments, and billing records with attorneys’ demands to ensure accurate and compelling information was presented to claims adjusters.
Through these efforts, Weber developed a strategic approach to conversations with adjusters, employing a carefully crafted series of questions to uncover patterns of adjusters’ reliance on automated tools like Colossus. His attention to detail and deep understanding of claims processes yielded impressive results. Across 52 real-world claims, Weber’s audit system achieved an astounding 187% average increase over the adjusters’ initial offers.
Now, as the driving force behind PlaintiffMax, Weber is revolutionizing the industry with two groundbreaking products designed to transform how Plaintiff Attorneys manage bodily injury claims. Introducing:
